Book 6: Follow Our Leader

Rosie can’t wait for The Great Adventure—the family’s first summer camp at Sonrise Stable! However the week presents several unanticipated challenges with the possibility of losing old friends—human and equine, becoming a role model to a rambunctious young camper, and facing persecution from an unexpected source. Through it all, Rosie learns valuable lessons about following Christ, whether His path leads to the mountaintop or through a valley.

Resources:

  • Buckskin vs. Dun
  • Foal Shedding - notice the dark areas where the fluffy foal coat is coming out
  • Twin Foals - this mare had two sets of twins. The article says the one set is identical. They have different facial markings, so I don't think they are. I don't think identical twins ever occur in horses.

Equine Art Lesson

When you're following another horse, the view is limited mostly to the horse's hindquarters, which actually serve as their power train. Learn to draw this rear view of horses.
