Sonrise Stable FAQ

Do you have ebook versions of the books?

The first book in the Sonrise Stable series is available FREE at Smashwords in a variety of formats.

The devotional Following the Narrow Path is available in both print and ebook formats on Amazon.

Are the events in the Sonrise Stable series true?

Many of the events really happened and most of the animals are real or based on real animals we had/have. They may be a combination of animals, in some cases. For specific details on the animals and people the stories are based on, check out Meet the Characters.

Are the books only for girls?

Not necessarily. It has been our family's experience that horse activities involve many more females than males. I'm the mother of three daughters and no sons. We belonged to a 4-H club where all the advisors and a good percentage of the members were female. Many of the judges at the shows were female also. Since I am writing from my own experience, there are a large number of female characters in the books, however Rosie's father plays a strong role in the series, as well as her cousin, Jared, and Billy King.

Do the books have any objectionable material?

As a conservative homeschool mother, I always scrutinized and filtered out a lot of the reading material available to my daughters as they were growing up. One of my purposes in creating this series is to provide good, wholesome fiction for horse-crazy children. There is no swearing, no divorce, no alcohol or drug use, and no boyfriend/girlfriend relationships. The children are polite and respectful to their elders and get along with their siblings. Since we homeschooled in real life, I wanted that to play an important role in the series. The main character, Rosie, and her cousins are homeschooled.

What do you do when you're not writing books?

I am the grandmother character in the books, and we had our first grandchild in 2019! All three of my daughters graduated from high school, as homeschoolers. I enjoy trail riding, photography, hiking, and drawing. My latest horse projects are Toby, a driving pony trained by the Amish and Gemma, a Haflinger cross mare I use for trail riding. I am also a web designer, computer programmer, and video course developer.

Can I purchase the books wholesale?

Yes, take a look at this page for more details. Wholesale purchases are not limited to book stores. If you have a homeschool, 4-H, youth group, etc. you could use the books as a fund-raising project! Minimum purchase is $100.

What is your refund policy?

Any mistakes I make in an order, or any flaws in production quality, will be rectified at no charge to you. If you are otherwise not pleased with the content of the materials ordered, they may be returned at your cost for shipping. When the materials are received, in re-sellable condition, I'll process a refund. This isn't a big company, just a one-woman operation here. I hope you understand.
